How are the Player of the Year standings determined?

At every event, Player of the Year points will be awarded. Points will be reflective on the tier of the event (Regular events, Majors (2x Regular Event Points), and Tour Championship (4x Regular Event Points). All ties will result in points being awarded through a tie-breaking method (3 players tie for 2nd place, points for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will be divided by 3 and awarded to the 3 players).

At the conclusion of every event, all players will be put into a single flight and points will be awarded based on finish and will be added to that player’s running total for the Player of the Year race.

How do I qualify for the Tour Championship?

Simple. Be a Idaho Golf Tour member and play in at least 5 Idaho Golf Tour events over the course of the 2024 season and you'll be invited to play in the Tour Championship. Due to the higher purse payouts and increased points in the Player of the Year race, only qualified IGT members will be allowed to register for the Tour Championship.

Tour Championship Tie-Breaker

In the event that the Tour Championship ends in a tie, the following tie-breaking structure will be applied.

NET: Sudden death playoff using the following to determine player handicaps in playoff.

(1/18 * Handicap) rounded up or down to the nearest half or full shot.

Example:

Player A is a 5 handicap

Player B is a 17 handicap

Player A gets 0.5 strokes in playoff (1/18 * 5 = 0.27 rounded up to nearest half/full shot)

Player B gets 1 stroke in playoff (1/18 * 17 = .94 rounded up to nearest half/full shot)

Player A makes a gross 4, net 3.5 on playoff hole

Player B makes a gross 4, net 3 on playoff hole

Player B wins the playoff

In the event that a playoff is not possible, a sudden-death scorecard playoff starting on the hardest hole will determine the winner.
